Supply Teacher – SEND

Support, Educate and Nurture. Sense Education are passionate about helping young people and improving the learning journey for young people with SEND.

We are currently looking for Teachers Full time and Part time. We are looking for passionate teachers who are interested in working with young people with SEND, You could be working with young people with SEMH, Autism or physical disabilities and we would find you a school that most suits your experience so that you can be effective in the classroom. Working with pupils with SEND can be highly rewarding and you are often part of a nurturing and welcoming team. Here at Sense Education we will support you in any of your positions. Although the supply teacher is a flexible role we do aim to place you in the same continuously as this works better for young people with SEND.

We can offer part time and full time with flexible working. Usually a supply Teacher will not require planning and preparation unless you take on a class teacher position.

The role

  • To work in specialist provisions with young people with SEND
  • Take a pupil focused approach to teaching
  • Work with pupils with EHCPs
  • Lead and communicate effectively with a small team of TAs
  • Have an engaging and creative approach to learning

The Ideal Teacher

  • Will have QTS or equivalent
  • At least 2 years teaching experience
  • Will have a kind and caring approach to teaching
  • Passionate to help young people with SEND along their educational journey
  • A great communicator and the ability to build strong relationships with the pupils and teaching staff
  • Ability to Ensure the students feel safe and secure at all times, and maintaining a clear understanding of safeguarding roles in the classroom

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
