We are looking for Primary Teaching Assistants either full time or part time to work in a school in Carlisle. The school is a vibrant place with a dynamic team. They have a large focus on SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs.
The ideal applicant will be from either an EYFS background or have experience of working with Autism. We will offer you initial SEND training then more CPD training will be offered.
The role
- To support the teacher in delivering personalised lessons for SEND Pupils.
- Ensure the learning environment is warm and nurturing.
- To support and encourage the students to partake in their education.
- Engage students in extracurricular activities and engage in creativity to keep the school day fun and enjoyable
- Assist at break times
- Work alongside therapists to support the students educational and mental wellbeing
- Report back to the teacher and other 3rd party support bodies when required
