SENCO

We have an exciting role for a SENCO who is immediately available. The role is to work in specialist SEND unit providing further education for young people with EHCPs. The role is to support the new unit until Easter initially, there is also the opportunity to go temp to perm. We will consider people full time and part time people for the position. You will be part of a dynamic and friendly leadership team and inclusion practitioners. The unit are passionate about providing further education and keeping young people in education.

 

• Has a good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
• Holds the National Professional Qualification for SEN Coordination or NPQ for SENCos (or is working towards)
• Will have ideally worked in Secondary or Post 16
• Has the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with key stakeholders (parents, students, staff and external agencies)
• Has a proven record of working successfully with SEND children
• Is passionate about working with young people and committed to an inclusive approach to learning
• Is committed and passionate about supporting learners with SEND
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Safeguarding young people is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
