Sense Education is looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to work in the Ulverston area. If you are considering a career in working with young people or in the Education sector, then working as a SEND Teaching Assistant is a great way to see the classroom and understand how a career with young people can develop.

 

We consider applicants from all course types, in particular post grads from Childhood Studies, Psychology, Criminology, Health and Social Care, Sports Studies can be very useful in some specialist provisions but we welcome applicants from all subject types..

The role

  • You could be supporting pupils with Social, emotional and mental health needs, Autism, or physical disabilities.
  • There could be the opportunity to work with other educational specialists such as Speech and Language therapists, educational psychologists, Art therapists to name a few.
  • You will be expected to create a safe and nurturing environment for pupils to achieve their best.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

 

Location – Ulverston

Role Type: Full time / Temp-perm

Pay Rate: £14.60 – £16.90 per hour

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
