1-1 Teaching Assistant Full time / Part-Time

 

Sense Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant for a vibrant mainstream primary school in Kirkby Stephen area. We are looking for someone to support the teacher working 1-1 with a child with Autism. This Teaching assistant role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals with SEND experience.

The school is a welcoming, inclusive and warm environment, with supportive senior leadership, they are looking for someone to work 8:30- 3:30.

 

The Role

  • Working closely with the teacher to adapt the curriculum to child’s needs
  • Encouraging the child back into the classroom
  • Understanding the needs of children with SEND
  • To help the child build confidence and reach milestones
  • Working inside and outside the classroom environment

  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support plans
  • Be compassionate, patient and committed to inclusive education
  • A background in early years, care, health, or social work
  • Patience, flexibility, active listening, and ability to build a great relationship
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast based classroom environment

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care.(NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Location – Kirkby Stephen

Role Type: Full time / Part Time / Until end of term

Pay Rate: £14.60 – £16.90 per hour

Working Hours

Mon – Fri 8:30 – 3:30

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
