Support. Educate and Nurture
We are currently looking for complex needs support workers to support in the classroom and also during lunch times and breaktimes in a specialist school. The role is to work within a specialist unit supporting young people with complex needs who are aged 3-19. with a wide variety of additional needs including complex medical needs, Autism and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Experience and understanding SEND is necessary and knowledge of skills such as alternative communication techniques and manual handling would be beneficial.
With a team of support staff and the Teacher you are required to safeguard and to protect the welfare of young people.
Requirements for the role
Working hours are school hours 8.30- 3.30. We are looking for both full time and part time support workers.
We will offer training and support in the position, everyone who works for us is required to complete Safeguarding Training. Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
