Are you a caring and adaptable individual looking to make a difference in early years education? Sense Education is seeking an SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN setting in Kendal, supporting young children with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provide tailored support to children with SEND, helping them engage and thrive in their learning.  
• Work closely with teachers to adapt activities and meet the varying needs of students.  
• Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that encourages development.  
• Support children with their social, emotional, and communication skills.  
• Assist with classroom preparation and contribute to a positive learning space.  

What We’re Looking For:  

• A TA qualification or another relevant childcare/education qualification.  
• Experience supporting SEND individuals (children or adults) is highly beneficial.  
• A kind, compassionate, and adaptable approach to meeting individual needs.  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.  

 Role Details:  

• Location: Kendal  
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (part-time applications welcome)  
• Start Date: Immediate

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
