SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). If you have a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification and a passion for making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!


Role Details:

  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Positions: Full-time and Part-time applications welcome


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and creating a supportive learning environment
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure an inclusive atmosphere for all students
  • Support pupils with additional needs in both academic and personal development
  • Assist with tailored learning plans to help students reach their full potential
  • Work closely with the SEND team to implement strategies and interventions


Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification
  • Experience or a keen interest in working with students with SEND
  • Kind, patient, and adaptable to meet the varied needs of students
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
