We are currently looking for a Autism Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism. This is an exciting new position to work in a specialist unit with pupil’s with additional needs. You will be supporting the pupil 1:1 and also participating in class sessions.
School hours are 8:30 – 3:30 so we invite people to apply who are able to work these hours. We are looking for people who have experience of working with young people or adults with Autism. You will be supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons to the pupils’ specific learning needs. The lessons are dynamic and creative. You will be expected to be flexible and understanding of Autism.

Safeguarding young people is an integral part of what we do. We have a stringent safer recruitment process. we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
