Primary TA – Part Time

A welcoming primary school in Penrith is seeking a dedicated Part-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within the classroom environment.

This rewarding role focuses on providing personalised support to help a pupil engage with learning, build confidence, and feel supported throughout the school day. Working closely with the class teacher, you will play an important role in helping the pupil access the curriculum while encouraging independence and positive learning behaviours.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil within a primary classroom
• Support the pupil in accessing learning activities and classroom routines
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver tailored support and learning strategies
• Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement with learning
• Provide guidance and reassurance where needed
• Assist with classroom organisation and learning resources
• Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate

• A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant degree (desirable)
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting
• Patient, supportive, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Passion for supporting children’s learning and development

Hours

Part-time role
8:30am – 3:30pm

2 days a week

If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
