At Sense Foundation our main mission is to help Adults with Autism and Disabilities smile. We aim to do this through offering day trips and group events to socialise and stimulate social needs.
After leaving education many adults with Autism and Disabilities are left to find entertainment and group events themselves. There is reduced government funding in this sector, and less opportunities for adult participation – all of which can lead to challenges for the individual and the family supporting them. It can lead to social isolation and further mental health problems.
At Sense Foundation we want to help adults with Autism and other disabilities to have more opportunities. We offer quarterly day trips across Cumbria, and aim to expand this to other areas in need of support across the UK as the charity grows.
