Support, Educate and Nurture
Sense education are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching assistants who are able to support young people with additional needs in the classroom. We welcome people to apply from other backgrounds also. If you have experience of working with young people or adults with disabilities then please apply.
We are looking for part time and full time people to support the pupils in the classroom. The school is a vibrant school with a passionate team of staff who are committed to supporting young people with additional needs. The role is to support in the classroom and additional activities, you could be supporting on day trips, or sessions with 3rd party suppliers such as speech and language, Art therapy and music therapy.
Most of the lessons are energetic and dynamic with a focus on developing the pupils independence, communication skills, motor skills and literacy and numeracy. each lesson is tailored to the ability of each pupil. You will complete learning journals of the pupils’ development each day.
The ideal person for the role
School hours are 8.30- 3.30.
We will offer training and support in the position, everyone who works for us is required to complete Safeguarding Training. Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
