Sense Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant – Part Time to join a vibrant primary school in Carlisle. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners with additional needs and is ready to make a positive impact in their lives.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students in the classroom. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with lesson preparation, working one-on-one or in small groups with children who need additional support, and fostering an inclusive, encouraging environment. This role requires a patient, empathetic approach, as you will be supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping them to reach their full potential and gain the most from their school experience.
The ideal Primary Teaching Assistant – Part Time candidate will have:
-A passion for working with children and supporting their growth and learning.
-Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards young learners.
-Ideally will hold a Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification.
-Has previous experience working in a classroom environment is beneficial, particularly with children with additional needs.
– Has strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
Logistics:
-Based in a welcoming primary school in Carlisle.
-Part-time hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
